What would a recommended RPM be? Does it work better if run faster or slower?
The threads pull the cone into the tree, will progress faster if RPM is faster. The threads do the work, that said it works best on hardwood. Usually start out slow on soft wood to avoid stripping threads from wood, once that happens clean the threads on the cone and try again. Once the threads are established the cone can be pulled in.
